Ok so i bought my first car on August 26, 2008...Since then ive slowly been saving this car from being picked over for the previous owners slant six 69 dart. ( yeah he was pickin from the GT for the slant) Its a pretty big project and its mostly complete it was just torn apart a little....there was no sending unit in the tank or anywhere for that matter, the vinly top was removed and nothing put on the roof, it had a door and fender from a 70-74? dart im not exactly sure. It has the buildsheet and fender tag still and its slowly coming together with the help of friends. It has a 273 in it...i think its # match with the 904 and 7 1/4 still. Its a slow going project but i hope to have it ready to drive in 3 months for my graduation...even if it has to be trailered to school and it will drive around the corner. Im not sure how to get pics up but if any can tell me how ill post a few of the progress so far.

Sounds like a cool project - you must post pics!

- Go to photobucket.com (or other similar site), set up a free account and upload your pictures.
- Simply click on photobucket's "Direct Link" for the pic you want
- Go to your moparts post, click on "Image" in the "Instant UBB Code" box
- Ctrl-V to paste your photo link into the box and hit "OK".

HOW I GOT IT.

SAD AINT IT?

AFTER A GARAGE PRIMER JOB

SCORED THE RIMS AND TIRES FOR 50 BUCKS...SMALL BOLT PATTERN TOO. THATS HOW I SITS TODAY. sorry for the first few pics because how big they are. Well the car is an original B3 blue inside and out with a white vinly top, factory console, buckets and woodgrain shifter are all still there, the A/C was taken off a week ago, the AM radio is gone and the interior is in horrible shape but so far ive only seen one other blue console. the car has its fair share of dents especially in front of the back tires where someone failed to put it on a lift, the door and fender on the driver side is pretty well bashed and it has some other spots and is nowhere near perfect. So far i wanna go the whole cage/race car route with it but im not sure yet.

nice project you've brought it a long way already. and nothing helps out quickly like a primer job.

Yeah, primer and some rims and tires made all the difference on the outside, taking off all of the A/C and changing the intake and carb made a nice difference underneath. Now i need the interior and an alignment that a highschool ofered to do for free if i can get the car there.

just to show how bad the interior is...but the seats, carpet and possibly center console wont be in the car eventually. Also i just primered over the Dart GT badge on the side since i need new ones because the passenger side was broken off before i got the car.

Lil update....Fixed my starter today since it was messed up and the freebie was a no go either so my dad dug up a 1997 reciept for my moms starter....and they exchanged it woo! Well i set the timing to 8* BTDC and the car seems to like it best there, it ran amazing today compared to the old timing which was...uhh ill call it a little off haha oops. So the car is basically tuned to run its best currently, the outside looks the same but i took a pic of the motor.

this is before the new coil but other than that its the same. The car driving wise is like day and night on the new tune...yeah i know its a 273 but from before its like a new car now. 3 month deadline is closing in fast for graduation...wish me luck

Little more work, flat blacked the front clip on the car.

Then put the grill and headlight bezels on and the hood is on again too, first time the car has had a face in years.

Now if i get the carb problems worked out ill be goin

Not much lately with the car. Picked up an A body 8 3/4 housing for 75 bucks awhile ago and just bought SBP axles, and complete brake setup with drums. And my dad gave me the 489 case with 2.76 open gears so i have a complete A body 8 3/4. Also this weekend im going to some uphostery places to see about getting my stock seats redone.

wow i have that identical car, even the vin. matches. mine has white seats and inner doors which was the only difference i could see. i was wondering if you ever tried to find new chrome for the sides that run the length of the car. ive had no luck and im looking for leads
