Do any of the 2008+ Challengers have a traditional ignition key? If so, which years have it? Is it available on the R/T models?

2007 was the last year of the more traditional key with built in fob for the LX magnum/300/charger platform.

When the shortened/little brother LC Challenger came out in 2008 that was done away with, and the weird looking chunk of plastic took it's place.

Since 2008, lx/lc has only had the chunk of black plastic.

Short version: Nope.

Isn't there a key inside the fob like my 2016 Jeep and 2012 Ram?

I think it is just for the driver's door if I remember correctly. Sold mine a year ago.

Do the cars with the weird looking chunk of plastic that Zippy mentioned have a separate starter button? In other words, can the plastic chunk be kept in one's pocket and the car be driven?

My 2013 has the push button start. However if it doesn't work you can pop off the push button start button cover and put your key in. There are videos on YouTube.

My 2012 Challenger is the same way. Personally, I don't like the button. Since the keys aren't in the ignition while driving you have to keep them in your pocket which is uncomfortable so I just through them in the cup holder or door pocket if there is drinks in the cup holders. The good thing is it will not allow to lock you car doors & forget the keys are still inside. It unlocks the doors & the alarm goes off to let you know you forgot your keys.

My wife figured that out the hard way (or I should say, I figured it out wink ). She came in one afternoon telling me the trunk wouldn't latch as she was leaving for the store but it's OK now. confused As I started to go out to look at it, the light came on. I asked her if she was trying to lock her purse in the trunk.
"Well, yes, How did you know?"
"You left the key fob in it, didn't you?"
"Mmmmm.... yeah....?"
biggrin
