Anyone know how and/or what type of fastener the mirror mounting plate attaches on a 1972 b body door? A picture would be nice, Thanks.

None of the repos anywhere I have found are correct. I would try R/T Specialities.

Yes, I am referring to those mounting plates, the question is do they get screwed or bolted to the door first to hold the plate in place so that if the mirror screws were taken out the plate won't fall into the door? If yes what hardware is used to do so? Thanks

Sorry, I thought you meant the screws.

Going by memory I think either riveted or a plastic push in plug hold them in place.

small plastic threaded plug holds them in place so you bolt the mirror to them

Original one is white and rectangular head push in clip, but anything like this can be used
