I did some dyno testing with a ModMan and a single Dominator. It was close in power to an as cast Super Victor, just down 10 or 15 hp. Hard to say how it would match up against a dual plane six pack intake. Might work a little better up top but give up torque down low would be my guess.

I have a dual quad one . my thoughts after dyno , street and strip . more suited to a stroker motor for best results . Adding 4 hole spacers and manifold inserts helped . Lost out down low,60', at the strip , made same peak power/mph . Though this was on my old heads , may be different on current heads .Drove fine on the street .

I run an 800 AVS on a Modman on a G3 6.1 Hemi.

Ive had significant issues with launches...just couldnt tune the lean bog out...even with drilling
the pump shooter.

Air door tension made no difference - it would stall no matter what.

So I trialled an 850 Holley dumble pumper on Sat....bog disappeared completely.

Since then other guys have told me that the Modman combined with big head port runners needs BIG fuel at launch .

Otherwise Ive found the Modman to be very responsive off rolling starts.

I thin Tex is right...its probably ideally suited to a stroker or dual carbs.

67 RO23 clone with 6.1 SRT Hemi and dual quads. Soon to have Drag Pak induction and Throttle body.

We run one on a NSS car and it's ok up top,but nothing we couldn't kill with a good single carb combo.

There is a guy at Capitol Raceway that runs the "Street Cleaner" Super Bee. I know he likes 6-pack setups and when he switched to the mod manifold he picked up a few tenths. Don't know his name, but you may be able to contact him via the A12 registry: A12 Registry

It has been a pretty good intake for me this year. It was within .10 of a single plane and a single 4 on my car. I ran it as cast. It had some flashing that could have been cleaned up, but I honestly wasn't concerned as I was planning on slowing down to a 10.50 index. I ran to 600 edelbrocks on mine and have had zero bog or launch issues. I played with two 800s for the last race of the year but didnt get much time to tune them.

I think its a real good bang for the buck intake.

Like ALL things in a engine... they(the parts) need
to be size accordingly to match the total package...
with the intake volume it might be way to big for a
stock size engine as was mentioned already

I agree with the statement above.

What et were you running that it slowed that much? What is the engine combo?

I run a mild 499. Indy SR heads, indy flat tappet cam 623/615 280/284, 12 to 1 comp, 5000 stall PTC converter in a 3500+ lb car. I ran 10.04 with the intake as cast with flashing and all with a pair of 600s that i jetted up 2 steps as compared to an indy single plane with a 1050 holley at 9.96.

Depending on the complete engine set up the modman works well with different degrees of success depending on port size and engine demand. The standard port works best with two 750 Edelbrocks and the max wedge port works best with two 800 cfm Edelbrocks. They seem lazy with a single carb and take some tuning with the 6Pac set up.
On a mild street engine two 600/625/660 cfm carbs make it very drivable.

My brother runs one on his new eng a just over 500 cube stroker. Its the first time he has ever used one so we dont have nothing to really compare it to. He ran 10.20's best I believe with a 499 and Eddy heads with a tunnel ram and two Eddy carbs. This eng is like 505 cubes I believe with Indy heads and the modman intake with the two Eddy carbs. Had to alot of carb tunning as it was very fat at midrange compared to the jetting the tunnel ram used. Has run 10.0's so far with that combo in his 3500 lb 64 Fury. Ron

Did it eliminate the need for "bars" normally at the front/rear of the intake valley tray?

yes it has a valley pan as part of the intake - so you just pput a beed of silicon on the china rails and bolt it on.

I have andy f's old intake on my car. inline two fours with two 750 edelbrocks.I have been in the nine eighty's at 136 mph. with a 55 over rb near 14-1 compression, ported -1 heads and a 715-715 roller cam.I have yet to mess with the tune up yet. it has a slight stumble at the hit. the sixty foot numbers seem a little off for the et's also. its been crappy here and have not been back out to mess with the tune up. all in all I'm pretty happy with the intake.
