For a grand + you too can run that serpentine kit Before you spend a bunch of money the question is, do you need that much alternator? The bigger the alternator the more the cost. Now if you "only" need about 80 amps look at the alternator for an 87 Dodge Diplomat, it will fit your setup alot easier and way cheaper than the Denso you mentioned. The 89 Diplomat had a 120A Denso alternator as an option and it'll fit your setup with some mount mods and new connectors on the wiring. Both of those are dual groove pulleys that will work with your existing V belt setup without the need to piss away a grand or more converting to serpentine belt.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

If I'm not mistaken, is this only the Police Diplomat with the 120A Denso? Although, maybe it doesn't matter for his answer.

Probably, that is what I got mine off of when I updated my 87 Diplomat. Question really ought to be, does he need 120A? Probably not.
BTW, AndyF's alternator is the one that also fits the Diplomat application I mentioned.

He probably doesn't have electric windows, etc., but might like overkill like I do. I don't know why, I just do. I want to swap the one in my '79 Power Wagon, if for no other reason just to have dual pulley running two belts.

Where are you at in Michigan? I think I still have my 60 amp Denso kit laying in the garage. What really sucks with the factory alternators is the low RPM charge rate. The newer Denso alternators fix that, even if they don't advertise big numbers. I ran the 60 amp unit on a Fifth Avenue for years and my car has power everything. Only reason I swapped it out is because I went EFI and electric fans.
Kit has the brackets, alternator and plug. All you would have to do is wire it up.
