I like a blanket 'cause I personally saw a shield turn into a yellow ball of yarn that did NOTHING to prevent fragments from coming through the floor. Driver almost lost his foot.
Many of you heard me tell that above story before.
The drivers foot and toes basically turned black, and the doctor was prepping to remove a large part of it when he brushed across the toes. The patient groaned when that happened, and then the doctor did it again.
At this point the driver said why did you do that again? Doctors reply, you can feel that? Well, then, we need a different approach...… Do you have trans. temp issues with Blanket? I'm not opposed to a blanket aside from the temp issue

That's is not to say you won't have any heating issues though My current bracket car with a glide that now stalls around 5600 RPM against the brake runs under 150 F all the time at the track, I have to warm the tranny up against the brake to get heat into the fluid

I run the CSR shield. I had one on my cuda's 727 when it exploded 10 years ago and it did it's job protecting me. No complaints here.
Basically your only options are the CSR shield or a blanket in a stock body car. I prefer the shield.

Let me throw a Q in here .. Why does an alum shield have to be recerted if it is not damaged ? uNless it is all about just THEM dipping into OUR WALLET again !! Nobody ever checks them. Doug
