Hello folks,

helping a friend to choose the cam for a 390" W2 build.

Heads ported by Ryan Jr stage 3, ported Victor intake, Harland Sharp rockers, 12:1 CR, 1 7/8" TTIs on E100. Car is around 3500lbs and will be most of the time drag racing with some rare street usage.

We want 600hp+ on this combo. Have 2 mechanical flat tapped cams available Hughes and Crower.

I like the second one better. The other seems a good bit too big for a 12 to 1 motor in a heavy car.

Both of those are smaller than the solid roller in my 416W2 and mine is only 10:1 and runs on 91 octane. It was spec'd by comp with drag week and street driving in mind so the lobes aren't super aggressive, I believe the lift is .740ish before lash but I could be wrong it has been in there awhile.

It makes right around 600HP, 10.54@124.8 in not wonderful air, It weighs 3500ish on the starting line. I think the combo could go 10.30s in good air.

get your head flows and all the info to fill out a form like this one
http://jonescams.com/drag-race/
IDK who grinds Hughes cams now was Engle
Engle new Mullen
if you have to spec a new cam send in the above form or contact Controlled Induction as well as all the user opinions
for torque comparison you wouldneed the seat durations
also with roller rockers visit the B3 site and read all four tech articles

Why did you not have Ryan help you pick the cam out

That Hughes cam should work well in that combo.
