The video speaks for itself. Safety is worth the money. I hope this video saves somebody's neck!

After many years of racing, I finally got my first HANS device. I used it through Drag Week 2018. My biggest concern up front was that it would be difficult to use. But it wasn't too bad

I saw a lot of racers using them on Drag Week this year.

Want to ad motorcyclists who think they're safer riding without a helmet to that, while you're at it?

My Question is what system lets gives you the most ability to turn your head, Hans or Hybred or another variant?

I need to do a new helmet and other gear so this is a good time to start thinking about it. Thanks for bringing it up Joel

I got a Nexgen, it has enuff movement to suit me. But I have nothing to compare it to, and I don't look back when racing. I can't see anyway because there is no rear quarter window in my car.

Planning on ordering one at PRI. They usually have a show special, and you can get the one that fits you properly.

Neck collar is mandated for faster than 9.99, but I hate the thing. Hadn't really considered a HANS.

A Hans will prevent your upper spine from over extending longitudinally, pulling your vertebrae apart and severing your spinal cord. A collar will not. That's what killed Dale Earnhardt.

well when you put it that way......

I need to up my game in the head restraint department, my car doesn't even have a head rest. The NHRA guy on drag week really didn't like my seatbelt setup because it didn't hold the shoulder strap from sliding. But he never said anything about no head rest, both issues I need to fix. Both issues that have made it through thorough tech inspections in the past.

I prefer a NecksGen Rev over the HANS but just personal preference and which fits your body type best IMO.

Al,
I was just going to ask about the NecksGen. They have a new NecksGen Lite I was just looking at.

Pretty good product?

I think you have really good movement with the NecksGen. I tried on a few different ones and have worn a Hans in the last. I feel more comfortable with the Neckgen, but as I say I think it is a body type thing too. I have really wide shoulders and a melon. Another thing I suggest is getting the CORRECT seat belts with any head and neck restraint. To allow the shoulder harness to stay put where they should on the restraint in case of an incident.

For the stripe Racers, I paid attention to the amount I could turn my head yesterday when I was at the track. My device is a Necksgen REV. When I am all strapped in, I can turn my head somewhere between 45 and 60 degrees. Definitely not a full 90 degrees. I can see the track, the Christmas tree, track Personnel directing me, and my gauges. If I was a stripe racer I might not like this thing but for the way I race it is great.
