Getting ready to go to BIR in MN, car had one pass on it from the last outing, so i thought all was well. Not so! #3 header tube cold when i tried to warm the motor. Checked a few things, put a new plug in it.
Start the motor again, still missing! Only this time it is #2 cyl that is cold! Ok, first thing, check the injecter nozzle. Bingo! Chunk of something, probably from hose fabrication, clogging the nozzle. That stuff must have been in that hose a long time, as i just put a filter inline before the barrel valve when i redid all the hoses. So, another issue fixed. Warmed it up, went to try the transbrake to make sure all is working, and the motor died like someone shot it in the head! Now what? No spark. Ok, test the signal wires that hook to the crank trigger. GOT SPARK! It turned out to be the pixkup on the crank trigger. Put in a spare, runs just fine!
I count my blessings this day! Usually it would be three ruined runs and one of them getting towed back to the pits.

Now don't forget to order a new spare. Glad you caught it at home.

Sg, it is a track rental by the Minnesota Street Rod Association. They make huge amounts of money off thier Back To The Fiftys event at the Minnesota fairgrounds (13,000 cars, 64 and older only) that they can rent the track for a weekend every year, free to members. No competition, just run and have fun.

I got lucky on my Rampage today.. I was cleaning
it today.. I bumped the supply fuel line on the
injection.. started to fire it up but then
started smelling fuel.. was looking at it and
seen the fuel line looked a bit weird... the line
itself was just about pulled out.. I pulled the
line a small amount and it came out(black braided)
so I had to fix that up.. glad I was in the shop
and not running down the road.. I cant say how long
it had been that way but I did notice that my mileage
was down in the last few weeks.. I have a couple of
cruises to hit in the next 2 days.. one is the Hines
cruise which I really like and the Hydroplane boat
races on Sat.. busy weekend

Glad you caught it Mike. My first thought was a mental picture of the Rampage going down the road with REAL LARGE flames!
