..I feel my steering bar should drop down a little more. Why do you feel or think that bar should drop down a little more? I have a original H code 1969 Dart GTS, those 383 motors, 1967 to 1969 A body only, came with a special oil pan, are you aware of that?

Vans Auto sells a reproduction 893 pan and pickup

I bought an NOS in the box '383' Pitman arm #3004809 years ago, and attempted a comparison to the standard Pitman #2835745. Clamped splined ends to flat surface. Splined ends were clocked identically at the larger indexing spline. Probably not useful info, but attached photos illustrate the subtle differences in bends.
