Why do you feel or think that bar should drop down a little more? confused
I have a original H code 1969 Dart GTS, those 383 motors, 1967 to 1969 A body only, came with a special oil pan, are you aware of that? scope

The 393 is a transplant and I have a tubular K-frame so I do have clearance but was thinking the correct pitman arm would give me a little more as someplace I read the 383 arm was different than the other engine that was original to the car.. I tried looking part #s up but at my age I was getting a little confused as some vendors listed the same part # for all engines.

I bought an NOS in the box '383' Pitman arm #3004809 years ago, and attempted a comparison to the standard Pitman #2835745. Clamped splined ends to flat surface. Splined ends were clocked identically at the larger indexing spline. Probably not useful info, but attached photos illustrate the subtle differences in bends.

Almost looks like I would have more clearance with the non-383 pitman arm..Very useful info..Thank you for taking the time to help clarify..

You have a tubular k-frame that still uses idler and pitman arms? What the heck is it, who is the manufacturer? shruggy
