I have a Thermoquad that the paper Bowl Gasket is stuck to the bowl. Tried peeling and just have a lot of paper gasket still stuck to the bowl. I don't want to scrape it with a blade to not cut down the sealing ridge that's there.
Any suggestions as to getting the gasket cleaned off without hurting the plastic bowl? Thanks

you might soak it in some water overnight (I dont think there is any ferrous female threads in there)

You can soak them in most solvents with no worries, an overnight soak in kerosene, lacquer thinner, even diesel should do the trick. Use a plastic gasket scraper.

I'll defer to Scott for the final word but what about some of that spray on gasket remover, Permatex iirc, it has worked for me (on metal surfaces tho), you let it set/work for 5 minutes or so.

yeah I didn't know if that stuff would attack the phenolic bowl but from what I gather the bowl is very stout material.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them. Pretty much what I was thinking but just wanted to ask first to be on the safe side, thanks
