I love mine and it’s been on several different engines that ran mid 8 - to high 8 second passes but I can’t help you out about vacuum pump use because I never ran one. They are made pretty heavy duty or at least they used to be

I use a billet timing cover when I want something that seals tight, fits a standard damper, accepts a cam button, and fits under a water pump. AR Engineering makes a really great one- Mancini Racing sells them. The one I've got looks too good to hide behind the water pump and pulleys.
