So I switched to the Hoosier Drag Radials from the bias ply. I haven't run them yet. I re-installed the screws, but see that on other posts they say to not run screws. So do I need to take the screws out? Thanks, Matt

You may have already ruined the tires..... radial beads will split if you run screws into them. I’ve never seen a set come apart because of this, but that could only be because most know not to do it. Tire companies are hard & fast against it. Not sure how comfortable I’d be with them.

Ran M/T 295-65 drag radials for 11 years w/ them screwed to the rim and never hurt a thing. Can ran mid 9s at 140 mph and 60 footed 1.32 on motor. Made a handful of 8.9 sec passes on nitrous w/ them too.
The no screws w/ radials wasn't an issue years ago...no one ever said anything until the last few years that I recall seeing.

My last set I just put on I bought new rims so I'd have a set for radials and one for slicks...I used high tack glue on the beads this time, no screws.

If you're worried about it, just take the screws out.

I don't think my car is near as fast as yours but I don't run screws in my 30 x 9 radial Hoosier slicks and they work fine for me. Heck I have been driving them on the street for about 8 years (on two sets) also. And they hold air all winter in the garage sitting on the ground as I don't lift my car off the ground. I also love how they just handle better then the bias ties do. Ron
