B&m makes a real nice unit with the fan and a built in temp sender to control when the fan goes on plus it comes with the pigtails, u do need a relay however the price is not for the anyone with a weak heart. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-70297They have a smaller unit but price is still up there.

I'm curious and may sound like a true rookie but how do you plumb it
71 demon stock stroke 440/indy ez-1 running 10.10 @ 132.14 mph in the 1/4 and 6.36 @ 107.46 mph in the 1/8 not in the same weekend but It did it then I sold it. 67 Belvedere that worked it's way in the 10's

Dave, mine is a pieced together cooler, I purchased a sandwich plate from ebay and did some serious porting to the inside for more flow, then fitted -12 male flares. 2x -12 braided lines and into a cooler like in Andy's pic. Dont go too cheap on this, you need it to flow.

Dumb question probably, but why did you decide to run a filled block on a car you said would be 99% street driven?

I’ve been considering running and oil cooler on my 65 Never thought about a fan. Thanks for posting this.
I run a remote oil filter due to clearance issues. I assume I can plumb the cooler into the remote filter lines - but should it be plumbed before or after the filter ?
I run -8 (1/2”) lines. Should they be larger ? M63HV pump, 1/2” pick up 7 qt pan
I used to care but....... things have changed

Well, not a dumb question at all. Because i wanted to run it hard and not break the #1 cylinder which soniced quite thin. I wanted to sleeve it,but shop suggested filling it. They filled damn near to the deck. The highest fill on a B/RB should be just below the bottom hole on the water pump and parallel to the deck any higher than that the block becomes a real nice boat anchor!

Just for comparison, anyone here using a oil temp gauge on a lo deck without any fill? Would be nice to see a normal temp number. My old 518 C.I. 400 pump gas stroker motor, 4.375 bore, ran real close to the water temps(160 to 200 F) up here in the summer after driving 25 to 40 minutes Low profile stock 6 quart Mopar 1970/71 hemi 6 pack oil pan with the stock 440 3/8 pick up
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)
