I was wondering.Is the molding on the front edge of the hood the same for a R/T hood as it is for a stock flat hood in 72?????

No the 70 is brite dipped and the 72 is painted body color

on a 72 r/t hood and a 72 flat hood is the front molding the same

Yes, they are the same. Both hoods had painted body color moldings on 72-74. The 70 & 71's were chrome...

72-74 Challenger hood trim is actually fiberglass and part of the header panel. The header panel was painted the car color thus the hood trim was also car color. This is why I am changing the grill assembly on my 72 to a 71.

72-74 hood trim is not fiberglass. It is metal (steel)and painted body color.

The hood moulding is metal...it's the leading edges of the front fenders that are part of the grill and are fiberglass.

I often wondered if it would be possible to cut those off of a 72-74 grill and modify the 70's to fit the newer style. I guess anything is possible if you work at it hard enough.

Oops, my bad. I know that, don't know why I forgot . But it is painted the car color to match the headlight bezels which are part of the fiberglass header panel. Sorry for the mistake .
