Just curious What kind of Power has anybody seen these heads make ? As in "whats the most anybody's made with them" ?
I've worked on & off over a few years with a set for a Customer, actually far beyond whatever someone ever SHOULD do, because far better Heads out there, but, nonetheless, I'm a sick puppy, and as long as I could just go over them again, while refreshening the Engine over the years, a little here, a little there, it was OK and kept burnout away.
Anyways, just Dyno'd the 540 using the "magic" SR's and got 849.2 hp @ 6700 rpm and 753 Ft/Lbs @ 5100 rpm. Unfortunately, I DIDN'T Flow them before I put them back on this time !
Now you're really gonna laugh ! Using Crane Gold Rockers and a 230# seat Pressure grind Roller(easy on parts) We just cycle the Gold's out about every 250 pulls or so, but they work fine.
So, how far have you guys seen SR's go ?
I'm now officially DONE with them !
Better to be a "has been" than a "never was".

The Car is a 74 Dart Sport, a White one. He's on his way home now to Install, and slam to make Vegas next week.
He used to run real low 9's @ 150-151 ? in the 2800 lb Car, but at 2300 ft elevation(Edmonton) I think he's gonna get an 8 now in Vegas next week with the SR's Too Funny !
540 Combo Mega Block 4.500 Source 4.250 Crank Source 7.100's W/2000 upgrade J.E. 13.7 Slugs INDY SR (highly modified, but NO welding & still 2.19 INDY Intake, downthroat adaptor Dominator Comp .690 Roller(easy on parts, 230 # Seat) CRANE GOLD's
Real "K.I.S.S." Deal. I've made lots more Power, but always with 440-1 or 572's. But thats my BEST with an "SR".

Vegas is 2100ft but the air should be ok next week, especially if we get passes in the morning.

An 8 might be tough then, figure he's only "up" about 30 from before ? Shoulda Dyno'd last time I re-freshened last year, woulda had better reference from 2 years before that(up 60 from there).

A guy that lives north of me Jerry timberman I believe ran a rail a few years back 470 low deck with sr heads made around 910-930 hp. His had epoxy in them mainly on the pushrod walls. I think he went to bigger heads and a aluminum block. He had a website and might have even had been in a magazine.
