I was reading AandA transmission is highly talked of in here or maybe Coan unless someone else maybe? Would like to get a kit or be able to tell someone what I need and what not. Seems some kits I have found no bushings are included with them.I guess will need to purchase them separate than. Kinda want to do a one stop shopping thing. Anyone have an idea who is good? Tranny gave it up behind 440 with 8-71 on it. Tires are super sticky Hoosier Quicktime Pro Dot tires.

Thanks

Todd

A&A is very good to work with. Standard parts can be purchased here.

I have used John @ CRT before and was very happy with the service and advice he provided. A&A and Pro Trans would be the other two I'd be happy using.

Whether dealing with A&A, or Cope, there are some things to be aware of:
First, they aren't Amazon, Jeg's, or Summit, so the shipping fees can add up pretty quick. To this end, try to order everything you need in one shot.
2nd, both charge core charges for certain parts, and this isn't always readily apparent, so ask!
3rd, they aren't Amazon, Jeg's or Summit, so the order may take longer to reach you...plan accordingly.

A&A and CRT (Cope) are both great.
You might also try Pat Blais in the Seattle area, especially on the early TF stuff. He's also on Ebay as something like TF Patty or Torqueflite Patty, if I recall correctly.

Not really worried about that as long as it is good stuff. Do not really want to hopefully do this for awhile after I put it back together. I did find one place that shows you can get more clutch plates in the clutch stacks for more grip. Figured with a 440 and an 8-71 on it with 18.5 wide sticky Hoosiers in the back I want the best I can get for it to hopefully hold up for awhile.

Guess will call Cope and A&A and tell them what I got than go from there. Thanks for the info so far guys.

Not sure where on the west coast you are from your sig, but Pro Trans is in Lancaster. I’ve dealt with them quite a bit since moving out west years ago. From street to strip they do it all.

I have used CRT (Cope) and no problems. As mentioned above, it would be a good idea to get all parts from one place at the same time to save on shipping costs. This is if getting rebuild kit with hard parts like the A&A super sprag, billet drums, servos, low gear and such. Core charges on valve bodies and pumps if you are buying modified versions from them, maybe on the solid bands too?

If you just need the clutches, steels, seal kit, bands and bushings there are a few suppliers on E-bay that have really good "rebuild" kit prices.

When I rebuilt my 727 with new drums, low gear, pump, I had to change the fiber washer on the pump to get the correct clearance for input shaft play. Just another part that needed to be replaced that I did not plan on and set me back another week to get the parts.

Cope told me about core charges up front when I ordered my parts for my 727 for the 512, thing's like the solid bands and VB's are getting harder to find.

I've had Dave at Pro trans do all my tranny since the early 1980s up
He is usually so busy taking care of NHRA Stock, SS and Comp Eliminator racers he can't take on much new work shruggy
I'm waiting on him now for a time and price for one of my local pump gas street hemi customers on the latest 572 C.I. Hemi I built for him, thank goodness he, the customer, is not in a hurry, yet luck

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

I have done business with both Cope and 727 Specialists. Both very knowledgeable. I didn't see where anyone said John Cope was a nice guy.
