Either wishful thinking or good intended rumors that E-town lost its contracted agreement and or license to park cars on the track itself?? EPA issue???

I saw some rumors of this on Facebook, an employee of the NHRA said it was total BS. I guess there has been some permits and stuff done that make people think the dragstrip is opening, its not, the permits were for the motocross track.

I have been hearing rumors also, several regular Etown racers are now racing with us in Island Dragways weekly Summit Points program. One racer that lives by the track has been keeping me informed but nothing is positively true yet. Like it's been said lots of rumors one thing is for sure the town has several restrictions that must be met before the cars can be parked there and as far as the town goes it's not a done deal. I have also heard that the Napp family is being sued by NHRA for breach of contract don't know if it's true or not but would make sense. I really don't know what to believe one thing is for sure the car counts are up at Island in the weekly eliminators which is a good thing.

I knew when this bombshell fell upon us that NHRA would not go away gently without a legal battle. I mean.... what did they think.......
Anyways, kudos to Island for making up and filling in the space of conflict.

I heard that they wanted out of nhra and are going to re open it as 1/8 mile no prep track. I also heard that the track has not been touched.
I'm close but I've had zero interest to drive by, or to go the swap meet. I don't know if any of that makes sense but I'd be happy if it re opened. Probably just wishful thinking.

The 1/8 mile no prep thing is new to me I haven`t heard that one. Track may be untouched but some equipment has been sold, a track scrubber went to Island and the track sprayer truck went to Wall Stadium, I guess time will tell.

VMP and the Franklin family have stepped up. Same distance for me, but easier drive and then there's the fact that it's not in New Jersey. Raceway Park is (was) a nice place. I liked going there. Made a lot of friends up that way and had some good weekends. I'd have liked it better if it were located somewhere else.
