Cab Burge I may be forced to go this route in the future but I'd have to get pretty creative I've run out of room in the engine compartment.

I went down to the part store and ordered a 51521. They had a 57035 but it was tiny and yah it would of worked but I wasn't comfortable with the capacity of oil it held.

I had the same question a while ago and emailed Wix. Can't find the email now. I stuck with 51515, but they said there were two other filters to use that are the same, just shorter.
51521 sounds familiar, but can't find the email now.

Is the 5151r shorter in size?

NO Turbo, that's full length but filters only 61 microns. Breakin filter 51515 filters like 19 microns but is also full length.

Yes Sammy this is on my twin turbo build I'm in the final assembly stage and realized I need a shorter oil filter to clear everything.

So is the 51515 filter a good one to use for first start up and Cam break in?

I have ran a K&N oil filter when I couldn't get the wix.. they sell a racing shorty.... actually have done it on multiple occasions and never seem to hurt anything

Are there others besides K&N that have a short race filter?

I tossed 3 Fram filters that have sitting on my self for 20 plus years. That is the one filter that I will never run again.

Funny how times have changed back in the late 80s early 90s fram oil filters and autolite spark plugs were the weapons of choice for us moparmanics.

I never had issues with the PH8A. I tried the HP1 filters back in the 80's. I kept sucking the rubber flap in the filter into my oil pump. And that was just a stock pump with the long rotor kits. I went back to the PH8A and never had that happen again. When I was racing regularly, I would change the oil 2-4 times a month, so I went through a lot of filters. PH8A filters never let me down.

I always pull the intermediate shaft and prime
the engine that way.. just turn the engine over
slowly a few turns while priming

I would prime at #6 TDC compression and #8 TDC compression respectively (to oil both valvetrains). I'd think just about any amount of pressure on the low end would reach all the passages.
