In New Orleans at Lemons 24 race to meet with tech. We are building a 74 Fury E86 K code police package to run in the Lemons 24 hour race series. We need to go with disc brakes all the way. I don't see any C body stuff on Dr. Diff's site. Does he have a solution? Anyone else convert a C body? Thanks Buford T.

Does the Lemons24 have a dollar spending limit? 500.00??
Rear disc conversion may blow the budget.

Besides,C body cop cars have big front disc brakes and equally huge rear drums.
When set up right, they do work very well.
I recommend Using a high grade friction material for the pads and shoes.

For the race track,I would recommend an adjustable porportioniong valve.
Mount it on the driver's inside kick panel so you can set it when driving.
Test and tune to balance out the brakes to avoid any premature lock up of either axle or fishtailing.
Hope this helps

Safety equipment doesn't figure into the $500 limit from what I remember.

Thanks for the advice. Fuel, brakes, suspension, driver components etc do not go against the 500 budget. In fact it is required upgrades. Good idea on the proportioning valve. My brothers neighbor is Sterling and Coo Coo Marlin. I bet they could help me with final setup. Driveline is up and running in a breakin Monaco. When chassis is ready we swap it back in. Still would like disc and need to anchor rear axle and go to coil overs. Do they make a coil over kit for the front? We are drag racers so excuse the stupid road race questions.

There is a Ferrari with a V6 blown car out here today. NUTS

Are replacement pads readily available? I know that setup is rare but we are going to be beating on it. PM me if you like or email stephenontheriver@yahoo.com

Disc brake pads used on them, are nothing more than 73-76 A body, Front disc brake pads.
Same for the calipers, too.

Nothing wrong with torsion bars. Get bigger ones, good shocks and a big sway bar and you're good to go.

PST makes 1.12" bars for that car.

Are you running the 9.25 axle or 8.75? Dr Diff has a rear disc kit for the 8.75. Not sure about the 9.25 but I'd call him because they might be the same.

Personally I'd try the 11x3 drums first and see how they hold up. Nothing like cheap and already have it on a race car.
