I am assembling a 273- 2 barrel from 1967. Bought a Milodon brass freeze plug kit. One item in that kit is a silver colored concave shaped (dish-like or hemispherical - like) item of 1 5/8“ Does this dish belong on this particular engine or is it for another year/size small-block?
Thanks for replying

Yes it does, but the cam plug is a little bit different for this motor, and I have already put it in. Thanks for your input.

The kit contains every freeze plug there is on the engine plus the cam plug and the two very small plugs for the front of the engine and three oil gallery plugs.

^^^ that is the cam plug that gets whacked in the center to expand it out to fit. Sounds like you got another cam plug in there.

Some kits have both styles of cam plugs. Yup - picture of kit on Summit's site shows both style rear cam plugs.

Thanks guys for identifying this UFO. Yes, I agree, it is not good that the kit does not contain the hidden oil plugs.
