Well in the 90's, Ford used Hypers in the Supercharged Thunderbirds. They also ran 9:1 compression on these 3.8L V6 engines. The old Turbo 2.3L 4cyl that came in the SVO Mustangs and thunderbirds were forged and 8:1. I've blown up 2.3L and never broke a 3.8, just saying.

I have used Hyper pistons for bracket motors, street motors with a small blower, and if you read the directions, have a little common sense they work good, and have some advantages as for as ring seal, because you can run a tighter bore clearance. I also might point out many OEM cast pistons are now being replaced by Hyper pistons when you order an engine kit, OEM is using hyper pistons as well.
