i need a set of bfg 345/55/15 drag radials!!! does anyone know of a set new or used?? this is the tire i built my 69 plymouth around and i think they have been discontinued maybe someone knows someone that has a pair sitting around, or didn't work for them? i really need some and really don't want to down size(315/60/15's are too small) and noone makes a normal radial in a close size! and et streets or quick time pros don't mix too well with rain. i drive this car most of the summer and it only sees the track a few times.

any help would be great!!!

I know this does not help much, but there was a pair at the Indy trade show yesterday for sale. If you happen to know somebody there today give them a call.

They are huge!

How about the Hoosier pro-street radials ?

Not a drag radial but good in wet driving conditions, descent tread depth and longer life than a DOT drag radial.

i ran them the first year the car was done... they just don't fill the wheel well the way i'd like, as they are an inch or so shorter.

Are you sure the MT 315/60 won't work? Mine are 315/60's and are 30 inches tall and 12.5 tread with 14.5 section width.

how wide of rims are you using? m/t uses a 8.5-11 wide rim and they say the section width is only 12.9 and 11.9 tread. i ran 315's on my old dart... and i assure you that the 345/55/15's are at least 1.5 inches wider than a 315. the dart had the springs moved in to the frame rails and the 315's would rub sometimes. the 345/55/15's fit like a glove in my 69 plymouth...the 315's would look waayyy small compared to them. unless you are running them on a 12-14" rim?? is that even possible???

i dont know, the right size/ stance makes or breaks the car in my opinion, and i just want to fill the entire wheelwell, and i just don't want the same size tire on mine that will fit b body w/ stock wheelwells... does any of my rambling make any sense??

I have the bfg 345/55 on my Fury, It looks like I will be going to the size 67Wedge suggested. He says it measures 12" tread As does mine and is about the same Diameter.

Tony, I run the 315/60 M/T radials on a 12"in rim and the section width is 14.4". The tire is almost 30" tall.Mine is on a 68 RR.

Hoosier Pro Street radial.

If a 29/12.50/15 is not big enough, you can go with a 29/15.50/15

Of course, 31s are also available.

thanks for the replies guys. i'm gonna mount up a friends m/t 315's and see if maybe bfg's 315's(i used to have a set of them) were a little smaller than m/t's. i know alot of times the actual size of a tire can be much different than printed on the sidewall! i hope that m/t makes their tires on the bigger side, and i can use the 315 from them.that sure would make life easier!!

Hi Guys!

Need your help on this subject. I have a1969 Dodge Superbee, with 500" motor 550hp, and 4 speed. 1st and 2nd gear are useless as I cannot keep it on the ground - TRACTION! It has a 8-3/4 rearend with 3.91 gears and super stock springs in stock location.

What is the largest street/drag radial I can put in the wheel wells? I have 15x8 wheels and could go to 15x10 if necessary. What backspacing should I go with. The 15x8's have 4" backspacing.

I am not able to go trial and error, obviously because of the cost. Mount them you buy them.

So, I am going to you guys for help

Thanks, Tom!

I have 29x12.50x15's(29" tall 13" section) on my charger with a 15x10 rim. I have 4.75" back space, I would almost be better off with a 4.5" back space. I just ordered a set of M/T et streets in 325/50/15. (28" tall 13" section)
I can take some pics now or I can post some of the new tires.

Hi Firefighter!

Are those the 30" tall tires, and what brand tire are they??

If you ever get a chance, could take a picture of it straight from the side when it is on the ground and one low from the rear??

Thanks so much for your time,

Tom!

I have 29x12.50 mickey sportsmans on it currently. The pros were much stickier. I am hoping to put 30x12.50 et streets under it with a little modification.

Restoring a car to look "only" as good as the factory made it is like getting a boob job for your wife and having the doctor make them two different sizes to seem more natural

Hi gtsuperbee!

Really nice looking Bee.

What wheel size are you running and backspace.

You mentioned going to 30x12.5 with modifications. What modifications are you expecting to do?

Thanks, Tom!

here re 295/65/15's on my 68, pretty close for comfort. If you notice the lack of molding thats because the tire grabbed it and bent it. I had to make spacers to move the rear end back and I didnt want to ryn the car that way. Another guy in town runs the same size tire and had to space his back also.
