I've got a 73 Power Wagon that has a 727 with the short tailshaft housing but I'm usure that the trans is any good. I also have a Hughes Performance trans that came out of another car I sold that only has about 3k miles on it. I need to swap the tailshafts and housings. How difficult is it and anyone know where I can find a write-up on doing this?? All I know is that every thing needs to come out the front end starting with the pump.
Thanks, Greg

Not all out put shafts are the same either. There are differnces in the splines where the planetarys sit. CRT's website has a good description and pics of these differences.

correct , best thing to do would be to just move the entire geartrain from one trans to the other .
