590 Challenger OP mopar 5 Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 493 Parts unknown	Educate me some, crank scraper "I believe" is to take oil off the crank to lighten it and bring more horse power? Originally I thought the windage tray cut down on internal windage to make more power. My ProMod buddy says it's mandatory I put one in or 8500 RPM's will be blowing oil out of the pan everywhere causing issues. If that is the case, why does it need to be so close?

Cab_Burge I Win C Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 43,228 Bend,OR USA	I make my own crankshaft scrapers, I shoot for .030 to .060 on steel rod motors. On your deal I would probably shoot for .090+ on the scraper with aluminum rods and .500 minimum on the windage tray to all of the rotating parts I do add .500 drain back holes on mine also on the oil pan block rail side, 8 total spaced between the main cap bosses I've seen witness marks on stock windage trays with stroker motors that had .200 + clearances on the engine stand Last edited by Cab_Burge; 03/04/18 03:18 PM.
