I just want to check on this. I usually have a old parts car or something to go by, but am lost on this. I have a wiring diagram but just cant get my head straight on it. All my other cars were 67 or newer and I am sure the wires were all heavier. I have all the wires figured out except the black and Brown one. They are a bit heavier wire than the rest. I am thinking that the brown goes to the small terminal on the starter solenoid and the heavier one goes to the bigger terminal on the starter. I am sure the heavy battery cable (missing when I got car) goes to the big terminal on the starter as well. It looks to me that that red wire from the relay actually carries power to the relay then when the safety switch and key turn on it lets power out through the brown wire to the solenoid on starter. I could just try it but I don't like them smoky wires and melting plastic. Any help?/
Thanks

Large batt goes to large starter stud. The sdmal starter stud get a IIRc 10 gauge or so from the relay on firewall. My 65 is sleeping or id look to see exactly what colors they are.But the small starter wire gets power when key is turned to start.Bir batt cable power to starter all the time.Dont know where my factory manual is.If you need more Ill look for it. Thanks That sounds about what I figured. I have factory manual for 61-62-63 and 67. They are all a bit different. I do have a wiring diagram for 65 but it is pretty vague around the relay area.
