I saw this Edelbrock CH-28 intake on eBay that looks to have the Vanke modification that they do with the Dual Quad stock Hemi intake manifolds done to it...
eBay item number:
322668731375
It looks like it has never been bolted on an engine... I am curious if anyone has done anything like this to the CH-28 intake and if it made a lot of improvement? or..made it worse?

Just a guess: peak power is up, idle quality and low speed response is down (needs more pump shot, richer primaries, smaller IAB). Mixture distribution probably worse than the original Edelbrock.

Yea... Andy F. said that I would probably run lean on some cylinders at a high RPM... might leave it alone..

This is with a box stock CH-28: http://www.hotrod.com/articles/1007phr-big-block-mopar-engines/

Nice intake for a cruiser or street rod type of car.

Don Dulmage from Canada milled down the divider a bit but not completely. Just 3/8" down.
Search the net for "old reliable". 11.5x at 118mph the quarter mile with a 74 Charger.

@AndyF: I am surprised the CH-28 (I am running one) makes the peak HP at higher rpm than the RPM.
Based on all the theories it should be the opposite. Is there any explanation for this?

Thanks
Dennis

I'm going with........ at wot the effective runner length of the CH-28 is shorter.

so the solution to solve this "problem" would be a) intake with greater flow or b) a bigger carb (1000cfm is already big) or c) both?

thanks!
