I got my subframe connectors from John at US Cartool and am beginning the install today. Has anyone gone through this on this bodystyle? Any advice or tips?

It's my second time doing connectors from US Cartool. My first was on my 1970 'Cuda(shhhh, don't tell the purist-resto-fanatics). I learned enough from this site to support the car from the suspension to keep the body loads normalized, and learned enough from the school of hard knocks about welding metal of disimilar thicknesses overhead.

I'll take some pics and post them as I go. They connectors are thicker and wider than the ones on my e-body. They sure look nice, and the car has been begging for them ever since I upgraded the suspension and brakes.

This is the type of project that I've sacraficed for years to be able to do myself, slowly buying and accumulating tools, getting a place with a garage to work in, learning all I could about these cars, and even though it's a lot of work and I sometimes have a love-hate relationship with it; I've wanted to do this kind of stuff since I was a kid!

1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's

My experience with subframe connectors made to fit the floor, have alot of grinding wheels on hand!

I installed them on a '67 cuda 'vert; I ended up having to do a lot of grinding... I also redesigned the way they went around the brake and fuel lines... I did not like the way the contours went around the floor - I think what I did looks better...

if you PM your email address I can send you a lot of pics of what I did & a PDF document

The Connectors are in. It only took about 10 minutes of grinding on each connector to get them to fit the floor profile. It took me longer to massage the rear torque boxes back into place after I peeled them open so I could slide in the connectors and weld them to the frame inside of them. The doors sound more solid when they close, the chasis has a more solid feel to it when driving and the car feels dramatically more predictable in the corners. Here is the link to a lot of pictures on Photobucket, along with an attached shot looking from front to rear.
