Was wondering if you could tell me if there are any common efi cars or trucks that run an external fuel pump that i could get from a junk yard. Im looking for one to make a cheap fuel transfer pump.

Thanks

All the early, pre 2003? dodge Ram truck diesel engines have a small external mounted Carter electric boost pump mounted low on the driver side rear engine block by the bell housing mating surface scope I bought a small electric fuel pump for my transfer pump, I don't remember the brand or price, sorry blush

Advance Auto sells small pumps, behind the counter normally on the visibile shelves, for $60. Not sure what brand but it's basically what you're describing.

There are $20 low pressure 12v pumps on Amazon...I do not believe any EFI cars have external pumps, $20 would be worth me not getting on the ground at a junkyard, however.

Just me but I'd get a transfer hose from a hardware store.
It's a simple hose (3/4"?) with a hand operated bulb to get it started.
Should do the trick a whole lot quicker than hooking up an electrical pump.

If for some reason it needs to be an electric motor, I would just get a cheap aftermarket 12 volt pump and hoses at the parts store and there you go.

I have mechanical Aptitude.
I can screw up anything.

Late 80's early 90's f150's and ford vans had an external high pressure pump. Research on rock auto, as I'm not sure if all did.

If you ebay search 12v fuel pump you will find some cheapies on there for 10 bucks shipped. I use one as a fuel transfer pump. I used to run it on my carbed jeep as the only fuel pump after the stock mechanical pump died. It ran great for years until I switched to efi and a high pressure in-tank pump.
