Looking for a set of headers for a small block Aspen. Was wondering if anyone has used a set of the Hooker 5115 or even if they will fit? I don't want to have to mess with dropping the center link or deal with the lack of ground clearance.

I have TTI headers right now on my car and they fit great and do not hang low like others brands. I contacted Dougs a while back and they said they wouldn`t fit the F body as i was looking for a cheaper alternative at the time. When I was a kid I had Hooker headers on my 76 Volare but I don`t know what the part number was but I`m pretty sure i remember them hanging below the center link. From the pics of 5115 online it looks like they do also.

I had a set of A-Body SB Doug's years ago on my F body. All tubes swept back behind the steering linkage. They fit great. Are the current offerings the same? I don't know.

Do you know the part number? When I contacted them it seemed like it was just easiest for them to answer NO then really trying to check it out. Did your car have power steering?

Probably the D453 items.

Fits most of the SB mopar cars. If tti's go in, I'd guess dougs would fit as well.

I just bought a set of Hooker 5115 Super Comps for a 1980 J body Cordoba. The Dougs headers are 453, they are supposed to fit too. I will have the Hookers in one week. Hooker 5115s are 1 3/4 primaries, not sure about the Dougs

All the pics I've seen of the 5115-1 Hookers, look like they go over top of the center link. They don't hang down like the other headers I've looked at. I was curious if there is much of a difference between the F + J engine compartments and steering set-up?

On the hookers the passenger side is fine. It`s the driver side that looks like the center link has a opening for it to go through. Maybe Jegs is not showing the correct photo, dunno. Take a look at TTI headers and you will see what I mean. If ground clearance is your concern then I understand but I still had to remove my center link to get my headers on even with TTI.

Hooker 5115s do NOT have room for the center link to go through, they go over the steering linkage.
I believe F and J bodies have same engine compartments and headers fit identically, but

This is a picture of Hooker 5115 Super Comps, They actually list a 1980 Cordoba J body in the description for chassis fit. 1 3/4" p

Ok, I was looking at the pic from Jegs and it is different from those pics. And yes F and J should be the same.

I'd be very cautious of the big parts house pictures of parts for mopars. They use a lot of stock photos for their stuff that won't even be close to correct.

Its pretty easy in this case. 5115s do NOT have the steering linkage pass through. There are hundreds of pictures on the internet of 5115s. Install pics. Under car installed pics.
I'll post pics of my headers when I get them.

The TTI headers fit my '78 Aspen wagon very well. The application is E/B/F/M possibly J) They are both one piece per side while the A body headers have #7 tube over the frame rail. Both styles went into the respective cars without having to remove any steering components. But you need plenty of working room underneath and may have to lift the engine a bit.

Neither requires an oil filter adapter when using a short filter.

The TTI site initially gives the impression that one part fits all, but clicking your way to "PART NO'S & PRICING ..." gives more application and footnote details. Scroll down on the link.
