For the life of me, I cannot find any kind of tutorial on assembling a 69 column, specifically how to install the two bolts that are captured to hold the upper collar on, and how to keep them in place while assembling. This is driving me #$%^%$ nuts.

I had a heck of a time with my M body.

You need someone with factory service manual.

I know what you're talking about but I don't recall that it was too difficult. Worse comes to worse, a dab of hot glue could be your friend just to hold them till the nuts are started.

Just barely start the nuts on them.

Then as an assembly slide it iver the tube. You will feel the square head of the bolts drop in the slots. Then just tighten evenly
