How much boost can a stock 2013 5.7 w/meth on 93 octane safely handle?
Has P1SC1 at 6# and HO innercooler now. SW headers and SW exhaust.
Wondering how much more boost it can handle.
Ive researched other forums but just wondering if i get similar answers here.
Looking for REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE.
95% street car. Might see track once a year.

PSO headed 632 from MM. Cracked cylinder, loose valve seats, low oil pressure, low cylinder pressure. ..... Now its a door stop....

at 6# your with the Eagle 5.7 , pistons are stronger than the pre Eagle 5.7. your safe, My Niece's 2010 Challenger ran 6# no Meth for about 3 years before the 383 went in.

Speaking from personal experience... I've got a 2009 5.7 (Eagle) Challenger that's had a Procharger D1SC @ 8 psi since July 2011 (installed when motor had 50K miles) and about a year and a half ago I bumped it to 9.5 psi. I also installed a 392 (6.4L) fuel pump before bumping up the boost.
I've got over 133K miles on the engine now, and haven't had the engine apart. Just general maintenance. And no methanol.
I've been to the track a lot with the car... since new I've had it down the 1/8 and 1/4 mile 531 times, with roughly 230 of those after the supercharger install. All supercharger runs where either on drag radials (early on) or slicks (later).

Thanks for the input. Thats what i hoped to hear. Was told to run the 6.4 pump but others said just go with meth. I prefer the 6.4 pump over the meth setup. Meth setup is Just one more thing to deal with.
What # injectors are you using? What size pulley for 8# and 9.5#?

Meth setup is Just one more thing to deal with. What # injectors are you using? What size pulley for 8# and 9.5#? I'm running these fuel injectors: 4891574AB (SRT4 Stage 1), 577 cc (55 lb/hr). The D1SC shipped with an 3.70" pulley (for a 6.1 it would make 6-8 psi or something, but it pushed up to near 10 psi on my 5.7 due to the 5.7's damper being a larger diameter than a 6.1. This mix up wasn't Procharger's fault, the dealer I ordered it from messed up. Procharger sent me a 4.00" pulley which hit the 8 psi number and said to just keep the 3.70" pulley (which I swapped back to in the last few years). I forgot to mention I'm running the HO kit as well. A P1SC will need smaller pulleys to get the 8 and 9.5 psi boost numbers, unless they've changed the impeller design to flow a similar mass of air as the D1SC.

I've had my 2010 5.7 turbocharged for over a year, over 11k miles and hundreds of passes. 93 octane, no meth. Have also done e85 when it's convenient but most track days were on 93. Don't get hung up on the boost number, that doesn't necessarily tell you how how hard it's going to be on parts or how much power it's going to make. Mine makes almost 600 wheel on only 7 psi and runs high 10s @ 126 in a 4000 lb stick shifted Jeep.

Im at 510 whp running 6lbs. I saw in a previous post of yours you were making 535 at 7 lbs. What did you do to get almost 600 without increasing boost? Also what fuel pump you running? StricNine....have you thought about running the Race innercooler? I know the HO one isnt very big and half is covered up by bumper. Im thinking about getting one to better offset heat pulled in from breather over exhaust. Will prob drop some psi if i do though.

It was blowing out spark, still had the original plugs and they were gapped HUGE. Knocked the gap down and picked up 5, almost 6 mph at the track. Running dual Walbro 255s.

Im thinking about getting one to better offset heat pulled in from breather over exhaust. Will prob drop some psi if i do though. I had wanted to get the Stage II, but besides my strong reservations about the air filter arrangement, it also wasn't available for 6 speed cars. That would've gotten intercooler into the air stream better. But to answer your question, I have not put much thought into it. I know it would be better, but I'm not much of a fabricator. Regarding hot air being taken in, I think it's only while stopped. On my car the air filter sits right under the driver's side hood vent. I have a gauge that monitors the OBDII CAN bus and I generally have one of its outputs set to show air temperature just ahead of the throttle body. Once in motion the intake air temperature drops rapidly and generally settles around 5 - 10 deg F above ambient over the summer months.
