The racing year is over and after lots of breakage (killed the front yoke and u-joint at the Hot Rod Reunion a few weeks ago) I hope I have it under control.
A new Strange driveshaft with Spicer 1350 joints on each end arrived today. I borrowed a pair of Calvert adjustable rear shocks but the track just cancelled next weekend.
The good parts of the season were it is super consistent and goes rounds against full on race cars. Usually faster too! I didn't get my 10 second e.t. but got some much needed upgrades done and we will come out swinging next year!

I'm adding a little shot of the juice with the hopes of consistently getting the car into the 10's. I bought the basic Nitrous Express kit because I wanted to do my own mounting of solenoids, wiring and plumbing. It will be semi hidden but if you know what you are looking at...

We ran the nitrous line under the intake and came up to the plate on the front. Covered it with black wiring loom. It is all that is visible from up front.

I used the Leash Electronics single stage board to wire. Very simple and easy to use!

I hid the arming switch in the ashtray where the old cigarette lighter used to be. The trigger is the button on the Hurst shifter.

I bought a JAZ Jr. dragster fuel tank that looks for all the world like an overflow tank for the radiator to use as my supplemental fuel source. I mounted it where the horns were on the core support. It has a small 5psi electric pump under it that will carry high octane fuel to the fuel solenoid. Again, not completely hidden but unless you know what you are looking at..
The great thing about all of this is I have used almost all existing holes to mount everything.

That's a slick installation. Is that a Street Dominator intake?

Cool. I was going to go with an M1 single plane on my stroker, but I talked to Cab Burge last night and he seems to think I should go with a Performer RPM. Anyway. Your car is pretty badass. Not flashy but it sure moves. You and Ron have two of the coolest cars on here. I wonder if '63 has anything to do with it? Probably! LOL! Thanks for the compliment and I'm a big fan of Ron's car too! I really enjoy the dual purpose aspect of it. I would never own a dedicated race car but making a street car perform on the track is definitely a challenge. I still have a small phenolic spacer under the nitrous plate and everything still fits (barely) under the stock hood.

I feel the same way. I don't(sadly) have the time to load a car up on a trailer and go to the track. I would rather drive it there and have fun and drive it home. I don't think mine will be as fast as yours, it's heavier and a stick... But being able to drive it and race it is a must. The performance of your car with a 3.54 gear is promising, though.

The massive torque of the BB stroker doesn't need a deep gear. My rev limiter on the MSD is set at 6,400 rpm. The car wheelies leaving off idle with a 2800 stall converter.

Doing some changes to get the car to 60 ft. Regular Monroe shocks on the rear weren't getting the job done. I added some Calvert 9 way adjustables to control extension. It is hitting too fast and too violent causing it to bounce once at the starting line. Slowing extension should help. Neighbor Dave also fabbed some upper mounts to make the shock almost vertical. From the factory they are at a 45° angle. I will test both upper locations to see if there is any improvement in straight vertical. I will show more pictures later that document both shock locations. Here is the simple upper bracket:

Was planning on shock testing by now but lots of issues with getting to the track so I finished off the nitrous system.
I did a test hit with a small hit (100HP jetting) in the plate on the street and WOW! Should have done this years ago!

Cold and windy, tried one pass and spun hard to a 1.78 60 ft.
It did an 11.32 @ 125mph. Best mph ever just spraying in 2nd and 3rd gear.
We'll get a warmer day and get it figured out.
