Really would like to attend Dragweek this year and get it off my bucket list. Especially since it is in my back door. Some questions; #1, What class would a 440 4 speed Challenger run in. No nitrous #2, What emergency items are most needed to take along for any road side or track emergencies. #3, I understand you cannot use outside help for car repairs, but can you go to a repair shop with a lift (assuming u can get there under your own power)? #4, do they allow camping , the night before? I assume it will fill up the first few minutes this yer when announced. But hoping to be able to get in on a stand by basis if I can not make the onsite registration in time. Thanks

If I had to guess.....
1-case engine oil, 2-filters 1-set front wheel bearings 1-case trans oil and filters (auto only) 1-spare fuel pump 1-starter & relay -gaskets! jack & stands spare wiring & connectors, electrical tape test light & volt meter, fuses, bulbs! 2- sets spark plugs Carb parts & gaskets cap, rotor, wires brake pads
If its well road tested, maybe less

P Body I am not sure how fast, yet. Putting a new motor together this winter. Expect 10.80 or so, based on what my cousin ran with his coronet with similar weight and motor and suspension.

Really would like to attend Dragweek this year and get it off my bucket list. Especially since it is in my back door. You will love it, go for it! Some questions; #1, What class would a 440 4 speed Challenger run in. No nitrous Probably Street Machine Eliminator, or Street Race, big block naturally aspirated #2, What emergency items are most needed to take along for any road side or track emergencies. A jumper pack with a built in air compressor, tire plug kit, fan belt, fire extinguisher, fuel pump, some wire, fuses and bulbs, a pint of Old Harper, jack and jack stand(s), any spare parts you have laying around like voltage regulator, ballast resistor, points and condenser, gas can, etc. #3, I understand you cannot use outside help for car repairs, but can you go to a repair shop with a lift (assuming u can get there under your own power)? Correct #4, do they allow camping , the night before? It depends on the track, you would need to contact them. Sometimes, enuff people ask that the info gets posted online at bangshift or facebook. I assume it will fill up the first few minutes this yer when announced. But hoping to be able to get in on a stand by basis if I can not make the onsite registration in time. That has always worked so far, but there is a risk. Good luck! Thanks

Bring anything you cannot get on the road, for example an electric water pump if you have one. Some valve train pieces are always good ideas for spares. It never hurts to carry some ignition pieces as well.

More like water and 5 hour energy unless you are Austrailian. Pillow and a blanket as you never know where your next nap will be. Zip ties of all sizes (we used a set on a set of coil overs at Gateway) A tarp for shade or roadside emergencies. Screw drivers that can be used as a pry bar. Will a four speed I would bring an extra yoke and u joints linkage bushings, etc. All sealants available to man, jugs and funnels for water or gas. Whatever you do something will be left behind.

If you do run 10.80 you will need a roll bar and a helmet.. if you test the car well before the date and its running good you wont need a ton of stuff

In addition to stuff above..
If you run a generic oil, bring a quart or 2 for the road and pick it up along the way. Spare oil filter as you want to do a change on Wednesday morning at least. If you run something like Brad Penn 20W50.. unless they say the fuel guys stock it, be sure you bring some!
Mechanics wire is always a good one I've seemed to use every year.
Spare pushrods, rocker adjusters (almost every year someone asks me for one), spare rocker if you have one and lifters if you are running decent spring PSI.
Spare fuel line is not a bad idea either, and a spare pump with fittings.
Dremel with an assortment of bits..
Gasket material that will cover for intake, thermostat housing etc..
Axle bearings aren't a bad idea if you haven't done them for a while..
Spare lug nuts and a stud or 2 if you are going to swap tires doesn't hurt.
Gas can!
Fuses
Spare coil and misc ignition stuff as stated above.
Last but not least-> Credit card with a bunch of room on it!

All good suggestions. Thinking a small trailer might be the way to go. Not sure how I am going to mount a trailer hitch on my 70 Challenger just yet. I am starting to get excited about this and really looking forward to it. Already had my son and his bro in law volunteer for trunk monkey. Being my first long trip (or group of trips) I may soften the cam a little bit ... or I may not and just deal with it. IF a group of 2 or 3 cars go together, i assume it is OK to pack extra stuff into one trailer. Or is that a no no.

IF I were to pack a pint of Old Harper, I would not remember the trip... unless I was using it as rubbing alcohol for my old joints. hahah
