The 37 Dodge coupe I'm working on came with a Dolphin brand power window set-up, not installed. No instructions, switches, or hardware. Only what is seen in the pic included. It is brand new, never installed.

I don't have any switches yet. I plan on only using 2 switches, mounted in a center console.

Is there any way to bench test these units before I install them? Only 2 wires on the motor. Up and down according to research.

I tried using my battery charger to test it. Ground clamp to the frame of the regulator assembly, and the positive clamp to the wires of the motor, one at a time. Nothing happened.

Should the motor work like this, or is the proper switch with 5 wires needed? The switch type I'm looking at has power in, 2 grounds, and a wire each for window up and window down.

And if anyone has used this setup have any pics or tips to share?

Thanks

This is the schematic I plan on using, but driver's side and passenger side will not be connected to each other at all, except for the power supply.

They don't have anything technical on the website that I could find, but an email might get you instructions.

Generally, the window switch swap both the ground and the power to the motors, so you need to ground one wire and power the other to get it to work, swap them to change directions.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

as said, the switch just swaps the power and ground, so to bench test, use both wires. one way should be up, swap the wires, it should reverse the motor and go down.
