I just put a set of new tires on four used aluminum slot wheels and when I had them mounted at the tire shop, I found that the wheel weights are hitting the calipers. I had the square, low-profile weights on.
I have about 1/8" clearance between the inner wheel and the caliper clip. The only place the weights will clear is on the angled surface in between the slotted opening of the wheel and the flat surface where the weights normally go.
Is this surface too far inward for the weights to be effective? Or do you guys think they would balance the wheels? Thanks in advance.

Can't put the weight(s) on the inner lip of the wheel? Seems like the caliper would be no where near that area?

Would weights on the lip hit the upper control arm or something?

The tire shop put them on the inside lip. They lasted about 10 miles until centrifugal force took over.
