A Hemi, convertible E body? Probably not. A 318 Duster or Dart? Sure. It's all relative.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

race it. the value on these run of mill cars is going to go down. might as well enjoy them and use them to have some fun. original drivetrain on a 318 car isn't desirable. the only cars really worth any money are the big block and or hemi cars and few 340 cars. everything else is daily driver material Race it!

Years ago we had the Mopars Unlimited show on in the park on Saturday and then on Sunday the drag strip would host a Mopar day and a decent number of guys would also run their show worthy cars down the track. Hemi and 440 + 340 six pack cars, Superbirds, etc would all be out there. You could tell some guys weren't running them to 6500 rpm, but they still made passes. The guys that own the $$$ cars no longer use them for shows or racing. The only Mopar guys that are still out there on the track are the A-body guys, and most of them are scruffy street + strip cars that are not worth a ton of money. I have a relative who has a Formula S Barracuda that he runs Mopar day and maybe one other race per year with and that's it. He has had complete strangers come up to him in the pits and tell him that he should be ashamed for racing with it.

As I'm an owner of two 1974 Dusters I will tell you this. The 1973 and up Dusters will NEVER be worth as much as the 1970-1972 Dusters and Demons. Have fun with it, enjoy it.
1970 Duster Edelbrock headed 408 5.984@112.52 422 Indy headed small block 5.982@112.56 mph 9.42@138.27
