The latest rumor is that any engine in any car will be allowed in Pro Stock, 2018.

DRCE in a Dodge, or DRCE in a Ford, or even foreign manufacturers.

If this is true, for me, it will kill off any interest I have remaining. It will be just like NASCAR.

If they do this then Toyota will jump in with factory money, change the front and rear facia on your Camaro and call it a Camry.

one simple change would make the class dynamic again - make the engine size unlimited - naturally aspirated - no power adders and it all must fit under a flat hood - let the games begin!

It's completely, irrevocably, dead. The class that used to support Pro Stock, and supply it with new competitors, Comp Eliminator, died years earlier. If you look at current Comp Standings, there are only seven guys who have ran more than 5 National events this year. Even if they had the money to build a Pro Stock Car, do you think they have the money to run 24 events a year?

The NHRA should have stuck with the original plan of 18 events a year for Pro Stock.

They need to make Pro Mod the premier class. None of those guys are interested in a 24 event tour either, but at least there are enough cars out there that guys could run regionally and you'd still have full fields.

THE 24 EVENTS A YEAR is what is killing off the Pro Teams...PERIOD!

If they do this type of crap how do the get away with calling it Pro Stock?
...but then again, there's been very little factory in Pro Stock for a long time.
Just kill it.
