I really don't see the issue w/ this. The problem isn't really Holley's fault if it is zinc pest and I didn't post this bashing them. Simply asked if anyone else had seen this before. Not to mention they have always treated me right and sure made a good offer to correct this issue.

I thought Andy was joking on the Zink Pest. Did the google search and it looks like that is what infected the metering block .
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

93 premium has lots of ethanol in it. More than 87 and 89, ethanol is how they get the octane to 93. Not entirely true. All gasoline brands have both pure and ethanol-containing gasoline under the same brand names. For example, Shell V-Power ranges from 91 to 93 octane both with and without added ethanol. It just varies from station to station, and it's up to the station owner whether or not to sell pure gas. Gasoline refineries walk a fine line with ethanol blends due to automotive manufacturers fuel systems ethanol tolerance levels. Other methods of raising octane levels in gasoline is the use of MTBE and ETBE. These compounds do not cause deterioration of sealing components used in automobile fuel systems. about pure-gas.org

We literally use hundreds of Holley carbs ever year. We had this same problem on several carbs a few years ago. There was a known bad batch of plating that we returned many that had specific manufactured dates. Holley made good on all of the carbs we had issues with. Glad to hear they took care of you also.

The carb in the pictures was bought brand new in 2007 I believe. It was the complete 6 pack induction kit from Mopar Performance. Came w/ all 3 carbs, Edelbrock intake, air cleaner, linkage, fuel line, etc.

BTW...as expected, this carb was one of those in the bad batch of castings they had about 10 years ago. Said they were giving everyone who had an issue w/ this new carbs. Both of the guys I've talked w/ up there were great to deal with.
