For my fellow Moparts members, I am near done this truck. More to follow as I finish up some tuning and cosmetic details. Its got a 440 with 727, 3:23 8 3/4 rear, a seven inch drop in front and axle flip in the rear.

How did you do the 7" drop in the front end? Is the front end still on leaf springs?
Love those dual headlight trucks. Wish Dodge would have kept then through the the 71 version. I had a 66, a 68, and a 70. Gene

Poorboy, the front end is a mustang style kit from Rod Weimer. Its a 5 inch drop with 2 inch drop spindles.

A few more pics of the truck. Note the fuel tank is moved from the cab into the box. I also removed the entire inner liner and built a new frame and floor. I made the tubs to fit the inside of the box sides.
The box is a 1966. I preferred the tail lights than what was on a 64.

Nice work and great looking truck. I'm curious about the edge trim on your floor (looks good btw). What are those off of or where did you get them? I have a 65 series 1 (also 4-head light) and it doesn't have edge trim on the OEM rubber mat so I've been thinking of making my own.

The carpet trim was made by exline custom auto. They make parts for these sweptline trucks. I have molded carpet in mine.

Are you going to make a finish panel to go in the gas tank opening?

stumpy, yes its the orange panel lying in the bed. It will have some Aluminum diamond plate on it as well as two handles. The floor of the bed and backside of tailgate will be covered in the Aluminum diamond plate too.

They were a factory option but it is difficult to find good used ones. As mentioned, Kenny Exline makes aftermarket ones.

Where did you get your molded carpet? How did it fit?

Sweet truck!

Thanks

Beautiful Sweptline & great job on the engine bay! Is your Swepty heater delete? I like how clean your firewall is & I may do the same for my 68 D100 that's almost finished. Also, how do you like the mustang 2 front end & was it hard to install? Mine has a custom 3" lowered I beam front & it may be too low for comfort, so considered the Fatman front end, but its pretty pricey.

Triggerfish, thanks for compliments. Yours looks great too. Mine was not a heater delete, I relocated them, take a closer look at the engine bay beside the air cleaner, there are two holes for the heater core. I moved the heater box to be a center mounted, as it looks better on the inside of the cab too.

All of the electronic ignition stuff is under the dash and the starter relay stuff is down low on the frame. I wanted very clean clutter free firewall look.

I used Rod Weimer mustang 2, and it works very nice. Good instructions to install, so was not difficult. A little massaging to make everything work but worth it.

Hey Mike, this front clip looks great and it doesn’t seem like you had to butcher the frame up like the other swaps. Do you have pics of the install process? And what did you have to do to the frame to get it to fit? I just bought my first Swepty and am looking to upgrade the front suspension. Any help alone greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt
