Greetings, I have to ship a Torqueflight 727 Transmission. What is the approximate weight of these sans torque converter. The shipping company wants it as close as possible. This is a big block if it makes any difference. Thanks very much.

Seems like a thousand pounds when you are under the car trying to bench press it into place.

161 lbs according to novak, but no mention of a converter, I'm assuming none as 161 is not a heavy load to press.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

161 lbs. would be with the converter, without figure 130-135 lbs.

I weighed the 727 when I swapped in my 518.
Tranny 131 lbs
TC 32 lbs

518: 186 lbs
LU TC: 37 lbs
