So Zippy...#5309 2" SuperComps? Are these a "slip together" header , and will I have a "normal" collector to bolt up exhaust to? All things considered is this the best choice in your opinion for my app? Are the 1&7/8" Comps your second choice? Thanks, Casey

Spoke to my "personal" Summit guy last night, he swears no such# as 5309 in Hooker catalog, says it must be 5209 = 2" super comp @419.00 The 1 7/8" are 199.00.Leaning towards these for my Rat Rod challenger, even tho I'm sure the 2" would be better.John RR said he got some good #s from the 1 7/8".Rvoyles, where can I get that 170.00 price on the 1&7/8" comps? Thanks for all the good info, guys!Saves me time and $! Casey

That was the price when I was looking...but that was a few years back...they must have went up. Still pretty cheap though...

Casey, Yep he is right, the pn really is 5209 for the 2". Brain fart They have one slip tube that wraps around the torsion bar, and they do have a 3.5" collector ring for a bolt-on exhaust. The 1&7/8 also work fine, but most of them need 2 small dings so the plug socket will go on. A few folks have had good luck not dinging and instead using an open end wrench for spark plugs, or grinding the socket to shorten it, but I never tried that. Besides budget, the only question that is left is which one to use? IMO the 1&7/8 are fine for a street car. Mine ran low 11's with 1&7/8 through the exhaust, and picked up nothing with open headers. If it weren't for the never ending quest for a 10 second run, I wouldn't bother with the 2".
