Probably won't slow down at all, maybe have more mph. 6 pack hood on my car pulls a lot of air in the 1/4 mile, tries to pick the hood up by the scoop. I finally put a dzus button in the center of the hood to a bracket to keep it from coming up. I don't have a problem with it when I run 1/8 mile class. If you run a good air cleaner you'll be fine.

It is possible it could affect how the car handles. No time to do a fiberglass fix?

Might need to jet a bit leaner. But it all depends how close the jetting was to the fresh air set-up and how well it worked originally. (i.e.: turbulence, seal, etc.) Make sure the top of the carb isn't too close to the bottom of the new hood.

It may actually be more consistent. Underhood air is more consistent and a good bracket racer I know actually blocked of his '68 Cuda Hemi-style scoop with clear lexan or plexiglass.

My old car didn't show any loss when I put my 6 pack hood from pro stock scoop

71 demon stock stroke 440/indy ez-1 running 10.10 @ 132.14 mph in the 1/4 and 6.36 @ 107.46 mph in the 1/8 not in the same weekend but It did it then I sold it.
67 Belvedere that worked it's way in the 10's
