Good evening members. I am new to the forum as of today just buying my first Mopar in a long time. Back 10 years ago I had them all, one at a time.
I bought a 1965 Coronet 500 (383/4 speed) with the Hurst package all original but with a terrible exhaust system.
What would you suggest for a nice sound, I prefer on the louder by mellow sound. I'm going to replace from the exhaust manifolds back. Thanks for advise

welcome aboard Ray. I would suggest some Hemi dynomax muffs (I forget who makes em) in the regular positions with an X pipe crossover and mandrel bends at every turn & in addition a pair of cherry bomb cheap parts house glasspacks alongside the rear leaf springs, a 2&1/2" system.

This is a TTI full 3" system with "H" pipe and their BB headers.
Turn up the volume!

Are you saying louder and mellow or louder, but mellow confused
The larger the diameter of the system from the exhaust ports back to the end of the tail pipes will increase the sound levels, especially at wide open throttle devil
I like and use three inch I.D. or 3.5 inch I.D. for maximum performance with a complete exhaust system to the rear bumpers up
When I lived in So CA I had a three inch system installed on my old pump gas Duster, it had three inch I.D. pipes from the header collectors all the way back to the 14 inch long by 7 inch oval with three inch straight through Magnaflow mufflers, nice sounds and it did not restrict the performance at the track devil It ran a best of 9.993 at 134.6 MPH through that exhaust system with the air cleaner on using Oregon 91 octane pump swill boogie
My new street car will have a complete 3.5 inch system from the headers back including a set of stock looking Walker hemi type mufflers mounted in the stock location on my 1966 Dodge Coronet Deluxe two door sedan shruggy
