Friday night I blew another heater core, (CAN'T SOMEONE DESIGN AND BUILD A HEATER CORE THAT LAST'S?) the damage these cores do when they leak antifreeze inside the car is horrible. I put a bypass tube in and the car made it thru Woodward Cruise. My question, does bypassing the heater core cause any difference in the way the car will run? Thaks

there has to be a good quality core out there somewhere. I would call your local radiator shop & pick their brains on this. they'll likely locate a premium ($$$) one but that's what we need.

Fortunately, I'm born n raised in Motown and we all have the benefit of having Ferndale Radiator on Woodward not too far away. Last year when I overheated I asked a local restoration guru where he gets his radiator's rebuilt and he said Ferndale. I walked into the past, third generation, 1925 Cadillac, 69 Mach 1 and several old truck radiators ready for pickup. Three row using the original top and the car never gets half temp on the original gauge. I'll stop there tomorrow.
