Hi all, I'm getting ready to paint my Hemi block after machining and some repair. I'd like to use Frank Badalson's paint for my gun/compressor since I've bought parts from him in the past and they were spot on. Does anybody have experience they can share about his engine paint - I'd like to buy it on Monday. Thanks, Rob

I have a can I bought a few weeks back and it's PPG Delstar enamel that's mixed in the oem color. I have yet to spray anything with it yet though...

On the receipt it says DO NOT use any hardener with it, which I though was odd. Seems like that would make the paint less durable?

I think the harder makes it more glossy than the original was.

Highly recommended! Be sure and order the right color for the year of your car, 64-69 was Race Hemi (or early Hemi, whatever name you want to call it) the later 69-71 paint is what most call Hemi Orange. It is much redder than the early paint.

I use it right out of the can, no hardener and no primer, just squeaky clean bare cast iron with a metal prep wash. Thinning it a little may be required depending on the gun and the pressure. You want to lay it on with as little pressure as possible so it stays wet, otherwise it can look too dry/flat.
