Thats cool like the old 4 banger scouts with 1/2 the 348 V8.

I wonder if one could somehow marry two /6s together.

I can not believe how MUCH tine, effort, money and innovation the Bonneville racers put into their cars bow shock up
I have driven out to El Mirage dry lake more than once to watch them run on that dry lake, dirty, dusty, no traction and no prize money for setting a record realcrazy shruggy
I hope to go watch them one time at Bonneville to see how much fun they have during their races luck

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Not sure if it is the same guy but a couple years ago I helped a guy from New Zealand build a motor like this. Very interesting combinations for sure.

On my first trip to Bonneville in 1979 there was one team running a brand x motor that was a 350 using only four pistons and four wooden fence posts... ran mid-130's with that IIRC...

My grandfather once traded in a tractor that missed on one cylinder. The guy trading it in said it needed a new spark plug. A couple of weeks later my grandpa found a fencepost stuffed into the missing cylinder.

The International Scout came with a 152, half of a 304 V8, and later a 196, half of a 392 Binder engine. The Pontiac Tempest came with a 195, half of a 389. In later years, Peugeot, Renault and Volvo commissioned a small V8 only to have a fuel crisis erupt. They had the project completed as a V6. It turned into the engine that Chrysler sold in those Eagle cars of the late '80s early '90s. We test drove one and it had a pretty obnoxious vibration. Too bad, it would have been a nice V8 of about 240 cubic inches. Well except for the fact that it was designed by Porsche and they didn't know how to make an engine that was easy to assemble and easy to maintain. I'm glad I listened to my wife on that one.
Audi and Chevrolet have added a cylinder to a four to make a five cylinder, and in Volvo's case it they had five and six cylinder versions of the same engine.

Speaking of the salt, if you haven't seen the movie, World's Fastest Indian, find it and watch it. It exposes the madness that we all share.

Ok I see what looks like mechanical injection plumbed into the intake, lots of stuff runnin off the front of the motor, he appears to be checking spark plugs, I can see one of the spark plug wires with long straight boot by his foot then what the heck -the other end of those wires appear to be plugged into coils nested in the empty cyls on the other side?

Looks to be half of a 354 or 392.

One of my all time favorites. Anthony Hopkins does a great job!

Offerings to the God of Speed is a documentary done by the director of World's Fastest Indian.
