What does the T designate in TX9 and TB3 color codes? Thanks. I know that my '72 Cuda was TB3, Basin Street Blue, which was Petty Blue. I've wondered myself.
1972 Cuda 340 4 speed, 2001 Ram CTD 4x4 6 speed, 1970 Duster 408 4 speed, 1996 Ram 5.9 2x4 auto, 1965 Coronet 500

first model year use of color: T = 1963 Black was available prior to 1963? perhaps when Chrysler went to the 3-digit paint code (1970 model year) their maintained internal documents only went back 7-years to 1963?? the black paint codes are the same in 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 "Sherwin Williams Color Manuals" that I have - I don't have actual Chrysler Corp. information TB3 (was never officially "Petty Blue") in '72 it received an advertising/marketing name "basin street blue"/"super blue" - prior to that it was one of the corporate identity colors "Corporate Blue" that existed before 1963 as well

It is best to stay within one model year at a time & the paint chip charts available already cover that information. Maybe I don't use the right charts, the Ditzler/PPG ones don't have year first started? So for F8: EF8 43786 Dark Green Poly 69-70 Dodge HF8 2514 Forest Green Poly 72 Dodge HF8 2514 Dark Green Poly 73 Dodge GF7 2317 Dark Green Poly 71 Dodge I guess you can get around the year designation by just saying "F8". But when I see a deep shade of green metallic car, I usually say or type EF8 because that's what I'm familiar with, if I said it for 72-73 I would be wrong. And if I saw a 71 it's still named Dark Green Poly, not "F8", but F7 or GF7. Just wondering if there was a quicker list to reference without having every paint chip chart from 62-75 in front of you. Like I know 70 Cuda's from memory, but not 73 Chally's or 68 Chargers without reference.
