I think the only reason KB ever sold a single piston was that they had the compression heights we were all looking for and they USED to be cheaper than forged but were always crazy High $$ for a darn cast piston--all we were getting was compression
Nowadays the Wiseco Protru Street line up is so reasonable that I don't expect KB will ever sell another set of those overpriced junkers
Under $400 with rings for a decent 440 forged is the way to go--they have no pin oiling etc and are without any extra features but hey.....great deal!!
I just know that Wiseco will screw it up and raise the price once they see how well they are selling so it is only a matter of time I guess

The KB237 440 piston had the compression height but are HEAVY as lead

I probably will never use another set, just too used to forged. Yep the wiseco pro trues were like $400 this past winter I should of sprung for them and as I think I wrote I got these cheaper since it looks like the one mopar shop that closed had them laying around and were about $150 cheaper then summit.

The instructions say min. 004 on the second ring and ive got them like .026 by not paying attention but ive extra simple cast rings I can file smaller.

You know the deal.... "I got them cheap vs what I really needed"

Hey I don't blame you--use them--Top ring gap correct and they will do fine and....Lenny Melton used to spray the #@*&% out of bone stock short blocks with his NOS cam and good heads--it was AMAZING what they would take --all because of correct tune up
That makes all the diff

I spoke with Lenny once about the wagon "Buster Brown" he ran for a while. Blew my mind that it was a bone stock 400 short block with a NOS friendly cam an some good iron heads. I think he said it ran mid 6s easily with a pretty good shot - something like a 250 or 300 shot. And here I am terrified to spray my kb185's....
