I'm trying to install my new data acquisiton system. The driveshaft rpm sensor mounts on the pinion yoke. I've got a 9", 1330 (long?) series OEM type yoke with a dust shield, and a Daytona support. I bought the large sensor collar (about 2.0" dia) but it won't fit. They're sending a bigger one (2.375"), but I measure about 2.5" in front of the dust shield. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just an idiot. Am I trying to install it in the wrong place? Does the dust shield come off and reveal a spot where it can be installed? (and how do you remove the dust shield?)
Anybody else experienced this problem?

I made a set up for for my dana. The yolk to housing was 3/16 and the one that fast sent me was 1/4 wide.
I had to cut off the dust seal part. With that on there wasn't any room at all.

Thanks for the replies and pictures. I didn't realize there were so many different pinion yokes just for the 9". They make it seem like a simple bolt on process, but it sounds like that's not the case.
How hard is it to remove the dust shield without removing the yoke? Just cut it and bend/twist it off?

Its a whole lot easier to pull the yoke... and if I
remember correctly the shield is pressed on to the yoke

I mounted mine on the slip yoke at the trans. Works fine.

Racepak Data systems has a big selection on sizes. I bought a Computech system and eventually used one of theirs. The aftermarket yoke mfr's machine them, leaving a nice straight shaft. I use a cast OEM type, which actually is tapered. I had a step cut on my yoke after removing the dust shield.
